And yeah - people have their opinions. I have an uncle who says "Opinions are like a**holes - everyone's got one." So true.

I'm sure we'll stop nursing our LOs sometime before they go off to college...lol!Swimming-duckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14634254954329528126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31922235.post-47188873214761526862009-02-11T21:18:00.000-06:002009-02-11T21:18:00.000-06:00When you are both ready, it will happen. It all evens out. :)Lizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02615324440313825876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31922235.post-77484421032497284782009-02-11T16:59:00.000-06:002009-02-11T16:59:00.000-06:00I wouldn't worry about it at all. If he slept better at night I wouldn't have even probably thought of weaning him at 12 months. I actually feel guilty for not toughing it out. But at the time he was only sleeping for about an hour at a time and I physically couldn't do it anymore. You are a great mom and this only proves it!Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13576020338507266077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31922235.post-29991233539696556992009-02-11T14:37:00.000-06:002009-02-11T14:37:00.000-06:00Oh gracious girl, the people who are giving you th...Oh gracious girl, the people who are giving you the "still doing that?" stuff are obviously of the single generation that believed that bottle feeding was the "civilized" thing to do.

The fact is this: throughout history, and still through out most of the world, that child would be breastfed until he was AT LEAST two. I breastfed the mackerdoodle before bed and first thing in the morning until she was 13 months old. I only weaned her then because we were wondering if we should go back on the Clomid cocktail.

I would suggest maybe giving him the cup with pumped breast milk in it, if you can do that. I've known that to work as a transition for several of my friends, and only begin weaning once he's comfortable with multiple things from a cup. Just a thought.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31922235.post-24467537349261198662009-02-11T13:34:00.000-06:002009-02-11T13:34:00.000-06:00He hasn't taken a bottle in about a month, but he'...He hasn't taken a bottle in about a month, but he'll only drink juice or yogurt juice out of his sippy cup. I have been spiking his milk lately with the yogurt juice. He thinks that's okay-ish. Thank you for the support, though. I've been fielding the "when are you going to stop doing *that*?!?" questions since he was six months old. So, I'm a touch defensive. *hugs*Mariannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18188087172327171162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31922235.post-38613702830958074692009-02-11T11:14:00.000-06:002009-02-11T11:14:00.000-06:00Most people don't judge until they get to two (or ...Most people don't judge until they get to two (or look like they are two). Just take it one day at a time and decide when you both are truly ready! If he is using a cup some of the time - you are ahead of many people!AJU5's Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05039236630636069326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31922235.post-80869326705594305962009-02-11T11:13:00.000-06:002009-02-11T11:13:00.000-06:00He IS still a baby! Go with your instinct on this and don't let anyone tell you what you should be doing. Unless you're still nursing him when he's eight years old like that chick in England. And even then, well, who am I to judge?Beccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05156777853779141522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31922235.post-34670859091577402142009-02-11T11:09:00.000-06:002009-02-11T11:09:00.000-06:00Isn't he only like a year old? I think you should worry less about that and just enjoy that "our" time as long as it lasts, because once it's gone, trust me. You'll miss it.Candyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14070433904661239686noreply@blogger.com
