Secret Squirrels

This entry is not about squirrels. Not really.

I've been talking to my mom on the phone a lot lately. So much so that sometimes I'm convinced she may be screening my calls. Would she do that to her baby daughter? Eh... Probably.

Last night, I was bored out of my gourd. So much so that even sports couldn't entertain me. That is bad for me. So, I harassed my mom (again!) via telephone.

Mom: So, what names are you guys thinking of?

We're Midwesterners, so we end many sentences with prepositions.

Me: Dagmar or Peotr.

The Targo's family is of Polish-descent.

Mom: NO YOU'RE NOT! What are you really thinking?

Me: Well, those were the worst Northern/Eastern European names we could come up with. Well, Peotr and Wojciech (Voy-tek) are tied.

Again with the preposition. And also, if you know any Dagmars, Peotrs, or Wojciechs ... we mean no harm. This was something we had planned to tell The Targo's parents. But he's afraid they won't think it's funny.

Me: Really, we're not telling anyone the names on our list.

Mom: Why not?!

Me: Well, everyone has an opinion and we want it to be a surprise.

Mom: You two are the most secretive people I know. I swear, we wouldn't know your address if you hadn't needed help moving.

I love messing with people like that. It's so much fun! I'm sure my husband and I will do the same thing when we start procreating.

At my best friend's bachelorette party this guy named Wojciech ended up following us around all night. We spent the entire next day nursing hangovers and wondering how in the world that guy spelled his name. And now I know! Thanks!

I know a Wojciech, actually, haha. And while I don't mind the sound of the name, can you imagine having to say/spell it for everyone you can across? Would drive me MAD! ;)

ROTFLMAO!! Moms - they rock, don't they??

I say stick with Peanut. Peanut Targo. It's got a nice ring to it. ;)

hahahaha. that's fabulous. Sadly, Mark picks out names that are almost that bad - and he's serious. Must really consider this before breeding. lol

Also, tell no one your name because some bastage will steal it just because they suck. That's what happened to my friend. Her cousin's baby mama had a baby girl before she did and stole both the first and middle name she had picked.
