Belly Dance

Shortly after we found out I was pregnant, The Targo and I had rented Apocalypto. We were all "it's about Mayans! And we were just in their 'hood!" Yeah. Anyway, there's one scene in the movie where the main character, Jaguar Paw, and his wife are lying together looking at her very pregnant belly. Suddenly, you see this ripple move across her stomach.

Me: "That so doesn't really happen! That would be too weird." (Yes, I really do talk like this.)

The Targo: "Yeah, there's no way. People would be freaking out like there's an alien in their belly."

Fast forward approximately 24 weeks.

Me: "Targo, do you want to see my belly move?"

The Targo: "What are you talking about?"

Me: "Come here and look."

He laid down next to me and leaned in close. Suddenly, my belly wiggled, like Jell-O. And then, there was the imprint of a foot and it rippled across my belly.

The two of us reflected back to our Apocalypto conversation and cracked up. We're such idiots.

Aww! It's really incredibly cute, isn't it?

I had an elbow pointing out of my abdomen for a week with one of my pregnancies. I was all smooth and round, except for this thing sticking out of my side. Made for a lovely silhouette.

Um, I was thinking more creepy than sweet. But OK, sweet.

That would freak the shit out of me!

OMG...

I am so afraid of being pregnant.

But it seems that those who have experienced it find it cool, so, I guess I will be okay.

Oh my gosh! I've never actually been in close proximity to a preggo belly, but it sounds incredible!

I must say...I thought the same thing when I saw that movie. Now, I don't. :-)

I remember when Lovely Daughter started doing that when I was pregnant with her. Totally the coolest thing ever!

Isn't that the coolest thing? I remember Ryan and I giggling loudly through the Prayers of the People at church one Sunday while we watched Charlie dance around.

I think L Sass and I are twins. My coworker was pregnant and kept talking about the baby having hiccups and moving around....and I thought Holy Hell! I'd be jumping around doing the heebie-jeebie dance yelling, get it out of me!!! Glad to know I'm not the only one (and that that feeling will probably go away! LOL)
