Seasons of Love - 11 Months

Omigosh, you're almost one year old. Where in the world has this time gone? (Do I say that every month? Yeah, I thought so.)

This past month has been so crazy eventful that I don't even know where to begin.

Let's see ... You started clapping - I know the parents of girls are thinking "yeah, so?" But I've always heard that boys are later to do those things. So what if you were 10 months old? You're a clapper now!

You also play the best game of peek-a-boo. Did you know that I can't see you when you cover your ears, or touch the top of your head, or your nose? It's very cool.

You also give the best loud kisses in the world. (Don't tell daddy that I said that!) I'll kiss your cheek with a loud *mmmmmmmmmuah* and you grab my head, with your mean old man hands, and do the same thing. I can't tell you how endlessly cute it is!!

(Nathan dressed as Steve Jobs.)

We've gotten quite lax at taking pictures of you, but when we try, you're not really cooperative anymore. You'd rather wander away, or hey! Something shiny is over there! *point*

That's another thing about this month: You've become a pointer. I know it can be considered rude, but so can slamming things on your booster seat tray. We find both acceptable in this house.

About three weeks ago, you started taking steps --- I mean REAL steps, not the one, pivot and fall steps you'd been taking for the past month. You're a walker, who still crawls, but a walker! And we're so afraid.

We're still struggling with your skin. I really thought it would get better over time, but no. You still scratch-and-scratch ... poor kid. Now, I try to get you to stop and you just laugh. I didn't know that "Stop scratching your head" was a super fun game. Learn something new every day!

We enjoyed our first Christmas with you. While I thought you'd enjoy the endless supply of paper to shred, you were more interested in the boxes under the tree - the ones that didn't belong to you. That's okay. Next year, I'm sure you'll enjoy it more.
Your 10th month contained some of my most precious memories, little guy. Your dad and I feel so privileged to have you in our life. We're looking forward to all the new memories we'll make as a family.
(I know I look awful. I know!)

AJU5 didn't clap until recently - so I think it is a huge milestone! Way to go with the walking to!
