A New Day

Genesis 1:27 ---
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him ...

Psalm 33:13-15 ---
13 From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth-
15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ---
I look forward confidently to the day when all who work for a living will be one with no thought to their separateness as Negroes, Jews, Italians or any other distinctions. This will be the day when we bring into full realization the American dream -- a dream yet unfulfilled. A dream of equality of opportunity, of privilege and property widely distributed; a dream of a land where men will not take necessities from the many to give luxuries to the few; a dream of a land where men will not argue that the color of a man's skin determines the content of his character; a dream of a nation where all our gifts and resources are held not for ourselves alone, but as instruments of service for the rest of humanity; the dream of a country where every man will respect the dignity and worth of the human personality.

I have hope today that our nation can be brought together under a new leadership. Most everyone I know voted for him --- I know some of you didn't. To me, this is a day that was a long time coming. President Obama is going to have incredible challenges and I hope that both he and our country are up to the task.

Romans 13:1
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

I didn't vote for Obama. Some of the plans he has scare me in some ways. But, I will support him and pray for him as our president. I am proud that this country has overcome the racial separation in many ways, although now sometimes I feel we are going the other way. May the next four years be years of peace and prosperity for this country!
