The Targo and I are working half days today. Because it's totally baseball season! This is our first game this season, because the White Sox game we were scheduled to go to was cancelled due to cold. Sissies.
My beloved Cardinals are coming to town to play the Cubs... the dreaded rival! It should be fun. And also? It's supposed to be in the 60s (but cooler by the Lake). Generally, I'm not the biggest fan of Wrigley Field. In my neighborhood, that's like saying "I'd like to shoot Santa Claus." But, it's old, falling apart, and smells really bad.
Last Friday, the Targo and I went to a meet-up with other Cardinals fans. Heh. Unfortunately the game was rained out, but we did meet some really nice people who were recently transplanted from St. Louis. One was a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady. She had pictures of her kitties on her cell phone. For the record, I don't. My phone just doesn't do the kitties justice.
That's another one of my favorite things about Chicago: that you meet people from everywhere. In our close circle of friends, people are from Illinois, Missouri, California, Michigan, Colorado, Korea and Hong Kong. I'm just sayin' in my little hometown... totally not like that.
And also? Did you all see that Chicago is the U.S. representative bidding for the 2016 Olympics? (I know that was so last week, but whatever.) I can't even tell you how cool I think that is! Have any of you been to the Olympics?

Thank you for an explanation that we can ALL understand. hehe.
I haven't been to the olympics, but we did see the torch relay come through a smallish town here in Northern, CA. We just happened to be at the right place at the right time.
I promise to root for the Cardinals this season if you promise to root for Notre Dame when my beloved football season starts, OK? Sound good?
Oh, and about Wrigley Field? My famiy worked for the Wrigley's for 40+ years. Just an interesting totally random factoid.
I hope that Chicago gets the Olympics since NYC was DE-nied.
Also, there's a chance I'll be living there in 2016!
