At dinner last Tuesday, Kristabella and Mrs. Hot were talking about all of the blogs they read. I had to seriously thin out my list because I have the attention span of a preschooler. I realized that I don't read the majority of the big named bloggers - just a few. I find most of the people through comments on other blogs. I'm a sucker for sweet and/or funny.
Like... Becca of Academomia. She's not only hilarious, but reminds me of my beloved niece (Please note I used the word "beloved" without following it with the words "St. Louis Cardinals." Baby steps, people.) Also, I'm glad to read about someone who is successful at balancing marriage, family, and grad school. I can sort of relate ... but, you know. I think my favorite aspect of her writing is that Becca doesn't even pretend to have it all together; she just rolls on. Now that's what I call encouragement!
So question for you, Internets: Is there a particular blog you go to when you need a lift, whether you're struggling with work, family, or other issues?

I can lose myself in these images. Normally, I'm not a big "kid pictures" fan, but somehow, yikes! - Meghan is excellent.
Every day, no matter what, I look at I Can Has Cheezburger, and Julia (Here Be Hippogriffs). Cheez is obvious, it's cats. I cannot help but smile.
Julia is less obvious, because she has for years struggled with infertility, but her way of writing is so wonderful it lifts my spirits no matter what it's about.
I agree with you, I don't tend to read the "big" blogs. I figure they don't need my support as much as the rest of us do :)
