I've never seen an adult so excited about Halloween and handing out candy. The Targo - wow - he was like a little kid yesterday. As soon has he got home from work he woke me up and excitedly shrieked "Get up! We've already missed some of the Trick-or-Treaters!"
We put a pumpkin on our porch, turned on our porch light, put a sign on our gate and sat out in lawn chairs. The kids were so cute. I've always been a sucker for kids. It might be because I became an aunt at age 6... I don't know.
Anyway, toward the end of the city mandated trick-or-treating time, a family with three small children came up to us. I officially squealed. The tiniest of the three was a little girl dressed as a black and white cat!
After they got their candy and ran, The Targo looked at me and rolled his eyes. "I guess I know what our kids are going to be every Halloween."

Hey I was an aunt at age 6 too! Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect for me - I really don't like other people's children.
Yay! So many people have been blogging about nasty Trick-or-Treaters. I'm glad you and The Targo had nice ones. Chicago is awesome.
hehe Targo is cute for being so excited. I kept going, "oh crap! the doorbell!" and then wrestling with the dog while simultaneously licking cookie dough off my fingers and trying to not miss a second of Ghost Hunters. I'm talented. BAH!
We got so few trick or treaters last year that I ended up having a whole bag of Kit Kats to take to the hospital with me. Mmmmm. It was lots of fun seeing all the excited little kids last night though!!
You guys have a city mandated trick or treat time?!? There weren't a lot of kids in my neighborhood either (which is a 1st) so I didn't miss any of Ghost Hunters and I am currently eating Whoppers for breakfast and trying to figure out what to do with 5 lbs of hersheys chocolate. Hmmm.
How cute! I wish my hubby got that excited. He stayed home and watched Transformers while me and my mom took the kiddos out. He was like a kid when I brought all that candy home, though. LOL :) Glad you had a good Halloween.
