... Um ... Nothing to Report

Hi! Still here. I'm feeling OK. I had moderate to severe contractions for an hour and a half last night. They were somewhat spaced out (3 to 12 minutes apart). And then I fell asleep. Today? I'm back to mild contractions at fairly long intervals. I'm assuming this is normal? (Any reassurance available would be awesome!)

If nothing happens today, I have an appointment with my doctor in the morning. Hopefully, I'll get a better read then.

I am going a little bit crazy with nothing to do. I guess I could take another nap (at 8 am?) or something.

Yes! Nap!! Sleep when you can.

Sounds like this *may* be early labour (I wouldn't know as I skipped this part and went right into active labour). You should hop on over and ask kate5kiwis her advice - she's had 5 kiddos!

It sounds like your body is getting ready! I'm so excited for you. I check at least twice a day to see if you've posted about the baby. Is someone going to post for you when you do really go into labor?

I went 11 days past my due date, which seemed like FOREVER at the time, but now my son is 18 months and what I wouldn't give to have 11 days of sleeping in... hehe.

Shouldn't be long now! And as I'm sure everyone is telling you: it will all be worth it when you finally get to hold your peanut!!! :)

Maybe early labor? I was induced, so I have no advice there. Try to do some nice things for yourself in the meantime!

Oh, I totally feel for you. The V-meister was two weeks overdue. My water broke the day before they were going to induce me. But I remember so well that feeling of just not knowing what the heck to do with yourself anymore. Hang in there. And there better be a baby the next time I drop by, Missy!

Oh man, this must be so excruciating for you! It's hard enough for your blog buddies to wait. Come on Peanut, we want to seeeeeeee you. (That is what two-year-old Laurel used to sing to my mom's belly when my sister was 3 weeks(!) overdue!)

That uncertainty is the worst. I can only suggest...don't go to the hospital too soon. I spent 23 hours there, and I didn't really need to. I just didn't know I wasn't in active labor and they didn't feel like sending me home only to have me come back 8 hours later.

First babies usually don't come rushing out, so you'll probably have plenty of time. But of course, those are famous last words. Don't sue me if you give birth on the freeway!!!

All contractions are good contractions. It just means that your body is getting ready to evauate the little one. If you want to try to keep them going, walk. and then walk some more. With my overdue #2 I'd get contrations that would start when I walked or was active and then quit when I stopped.
All of this these "warm up" contractions are a good thing.
Hope this helps a little. I know you are just ready to be done with this whole thing. Feel free to bug your doc about this too. Call the bugger up if you are wondering, that's what they get paid the big bucks for! ;o)

Good luck, you're in the home stretch!

It could be early labour. You might go in to see the doc and find out you've dilated a few cm...do they call it centimetres in the STates or inches? Cripes - wouldn't want to see 9 inches dilation!! 9 cm is bad enough.

This will very soon be a memory....a very wished-for memory.... of days you could nap when you wanted to... ha ha ha!

I keep checking to see if you've had the little one yet. Good luck and may it be sweet and painless!!
